Mom Kept Getting Ridiculed For Breastfeeding In Public, So She Writes A Poem; Shuts Up Haters

Updated January 9, 2018

Although it is an entirely natural and normal thing, breastfeeding continues to be a source of contention in various communities across the United States. While baby needs to be fed and mom needs to provide for the child, people are still stunned to see a mom breastfeeding her children while out and about in public. But if a kid has got to eat, mom has got to stop what she is doing and make sure it happens.

But one mom finally had enough of all the hateful comments and constant criticism she faced while breastfeeding her baby in public. As a result, she turned to Facebook and shared a poem about breastfeeding that quickly went viral and silence all her haters.

The mom we are talking about it Whitney Rene Huntwork. And she shared a controversial image of herself breastfeeding her baby while out in the grocery store. Mom has her fists on her hips like she is Superwoman and has her breast popped out of her shirt. Her baby is suckling on it while seated in the grocery cart.

Whitney shared the following poem about breastfeeding:

“Anytime. Anywhere. You can stare, I don’t care. I’ll feed my hungry child, here or there, if you don’t like my boob, I still don’t care. A Restaurant? A store? It’s boob juice galore! A theater? A museum? But your more focused on trying to see them! Bottle or boob Its all just food. You still think I should cover? You should run and tell your mother. Pull out your phone and take a picture? But I’m the one who’s the problem? Don’t you wish we could all mind our business? That would sure solve them! Think I am disgusting? I could say the same? Think I am playing an attention seeking game? You are wrong because you see, really I am only worried about the comfort of my baby and me!”

To sign off her poem, this mom wrote: “Sincerely Whitney, the bad*ss breastfeeder & her bad*ss son fueled by purely boob juice.”

Whitney’s lyrical poem inspired moms across the globe to share it. At the time of this writing, more than 140,000 people have shared it with their friends and followers via Facebook.

Various friends and followers of Whitney shared hundreds of comments on the viral post. The following were some of the responses from impressed viewers:

“Your post has gotten so many shares…. People on my page that don’t even have kids are sharing it!!! You go, momma!!!!”

“I am holding myself back from snapping on any negative comments on this. People are so ignorant!!”

Because liquor is pictured in the background, some commenters have decided to use that as their argument to make Whitney appear to be a bad mom. But others have come to her defense including one person who wrote the following.

“Honestly, I think its so annoying that people keep mentioning the liquor in the background. Like do you see her drinking it or in her cart NO!? She’s at the grocery store clearly, and so she happens to pass that aisle, BUT it doesn’t mean she’s drinking. Gosh, people are so annoying sometimes and like to point out every little thing. Sorry rant over.”
